About
2 bedroom 2 bath condominium in the remarkable Sugar Top high rise building. Fantastic ski slope views and facility features an indoor pool, whirlpool, sauna, and fitness room. Owner has added an air purification system in this property! FYI This unit is NON-smoking but a neighboring unit does house smokers.
Your 8th floor condo will provide unforgettable views whether you're overlooking the ski slopes in winter or miles and miles of foliage during the rest of the year. Master bedroom has a king sized bed and the second bedroom has a queen sized bed, and the condo has flatscreen tvs. The homeowner has thoughtfully provided a freestanding air conditioner unit for your comfort. (only available in summer months)
Kitchen has pots and pans, dishes and silverware, small appliances. NO coffee is provided, but we are now stocking units with salt and pepper, and cooking oil.
The units only have a 38 gallon water heater, due to space limitations.
This only permits a 3-5 minute shower before the heater needs to recycle and reheat. .

Condo was nice with great view.. OMG, the neighbor (who is a full time resident) smoked cigerettes and filled the condo with cigerette oder! This is a known issue with this condo. We had to leave front door open and sliding glass door open to air out the place the whole time we where there. And note it was -13 degrees out. Security even brought up some industrial odor eliminator which was a total failure.. (Please thank security for their attempt). Security also advised that this has been a issue with everyone that stayed in the condo. The owner of the condo attempted to to curb the oder with a electric Odor Eliminators mounted on the wall.. IT DID NOT WORK.. Clothes will have to be dry cleaned when you leave.. Please note, this is not the owners fault, it is a no smoking condo..Very limted suppies in Kitchen, bring trash bags and paper towels. Tubs had hair in them. Pots useless. Most of these placed are the same, I had my own.. Note you CAN NOT PARK at the condo, off site parking and a shuttle takes you back and forth .

I'm leaving this review in hopes of providing better transparency regarding the neighbor situation. Our property is a non-smoking condo, as stated in Keith's review. The majority of our guests are able to stay and "deal with" the smoke smell as it tends to be prominent in the entry rather than throughout. But during insanely cold weather like during this stay, having the units closed up without circulating fresh air, the smoke smell does seem to become much more prominent.
Regarding the feedback on the unit itself, thank you. I keep extra sets of pots and pans in the rental office in case we need a fast replacement. I could have brought some up to you, but I understand you probably didn't want to make a call about it during such an extreme winter storm. I must say, regardless of the issues you encountered, you were an absolute class act and a pleasure to work with, Keith.

tv in guest bedroom was not working. Maintenance was very slow to respond to my request. A few light bulbs were not working either. A call was made upon entering the room and now one responded until after late the second day.

The view is awesome! The facility is amazing! This condo needs some TLC in the kitchen. Utensils are missing. No pizza cutter and not even a spatula...there is now! Only one regular teaspoon in the silverware tray which makes it hard on grandchildren who want cereal for breakfast. No bowls with lids to put leftover goodies in the fridge for later. So enjoy the view, enjoy the facilities but make sure you pack your kitchen from home.

Condo has been nicely renovated and has ample space for 4 people for a week. Great view of the "green" ski slopes from the porch. It was nice to have the pool available for the kids to spend some time in before or after dinner. Parking was kind of a pain with the shuttle but manageable. Unfortunately, the condo smelled of smoke. The smell seems to be coming from the neighbors and not the condo itself. There was an air purifier in the living room but it didn't seem to do much. Once we cooked and opened a window a bit the smoke smell seemed to dissipate. If you have asthma this condo may be a problem for you. But to be honest a friend was staying in a different condo in the same building and had the same smoke smell issue. Maybe there is shared venting systems with neighboring units?!? There are a few small things that could be addressed like larger mugs, adding cooking utensils, and a vacuum for longer stays.

I appreciate you leaving this helpful review. The owner of our condo has done so much to update and improve the unit, and our guests love it. The smoking neighbor is unfortunately something we have to deal with. I'm pretty sensitive to smoke and have noticed that once I'm inside the condo for about 5 minutes I don't notice it. But it it something to take into consideration as everyone is different, so thanks again.

THIS IS A CIGARETTE SMOKE CONDO!!! The smoke is sitting in the carpets from 1979 or God knows when. Horrendous smell! I can't believe there isn't some quality control on who can rent a condo! Also the ad says it's less than half a mile to the slopes and a 10 min walk. Not true! That might be as the crow flies, but it's not walkable at 2-3 miles up the mountain. False advertising!! Inconvenient parking, big sofa stain, bulging area rug to trip over, stained kitchen vinyl flooring, broken drinking glass, rust in the dishwasher, broken toilet paper holder dangling off the wall, constant dripping faucet, no cutting board, sink water doesn't drain well, insufficient main door lock. We booked for 2 nights and left a night early cause of the horrible smoke smell. They have tried to disguise it with some air freshener that sits in the corner, but that'll never work. Am in the process of trying to get a refund. Go somewhere else!

This condo, like all our others is NON-SMOKING. Unfortunately, there are some neighbors who, as homeowners, can do pretty much whatever they want when they're home. That includes smoking. The homeowner is in the process of getting rid of the carpet and putting down smooth flooring in hopes that it helps keep the smoke smells at bay.
The condo is approximately 2-2.5 miles to the ski area so definitely not advertised as a half mile or a ten minute walk. I'd never advise for anyone to try and walk up or down Sugar Mountain in winter- if a driver were to lose traction a pedestrian could be hit.
I'm sorry for the issues you had and also any confusion. Had you reached out to me upon your arrival and disappointment it would have been handled promptly, as requested in the rental property rules.
Thank you for taking the time to review and hopefully I can pass this on to the HOA in hopes of smoking guidelines changing for owners. Especially since this particular homeowner does not smoke either.

Overall, our experience was a good one. Sugar Top Lodge is a nice place atop the mountain. We appreciated the shuttle from the parking lot to the entrance. The check-in/check-out process was smooth. My daughter enjoyed the indoor pool and hot tub immensely.

Our rental properties are strictly NO SMOKING, but there are some units nearby that have smoking owners, unfortunately. Thankfully, it was not in any of the other rooms. For the good. The view was amazing, everyone was incredibly accommodating and the amenities were open and clean.
The bad, the unit needs some help. There is a strong smell as soon as you walk in the door. Either the carpet is very old and needs replacement or someone has been smoking in the unit. There is an area rug glued down that has bunched up and is a dangerous tripping hazard. There is a plumbing issue in the master bathroom. Water doesn't drain and you're standing in an inch of water while showering. Luckily there are 2 showers so we used the other one.

The location was great and the condo was clean. The unit is very dated with the furnishings and decor but that wasn't a big deal for us. The car shuttle from the visitor parking lot was very efficient and fast. All in all a good stay.

Everyone was so pleasant here and the sites were amazing. The lodge we stayed in was absolutely beautiful with a breathtaking view, not to mention it was located perfectly near everything. Sugar Mountain Resort was beautiful and we enjoyed the fun on the mountain. We will definitely be returning to the Sugar Top Lodge.

The room was nice and the view was great. Enjoyed the pool and hot tub downstairs as well. The room definitely smells like smoke tho. Front desk told us the neighbors are smokers and so if that would bother you, I’d probably pick another room. Other than that, the bed was very comfortable and I enjoyed my stay

Thanks so much for your kind review! Our homeowner has installed an air filtration device, but during the winter when doors and windows must be closed, the neighbors' habit can be more intrusive. Definitely something to be mentioned in case of breathing issues or smell-sensitive folks.
